You know what? Screw you 2007. Let's do a quick recap of some of the highlights. I started off the year with a nasty case of bronchitis that pretty much took me out for a couple weeks. I then got to visit the St. Paul's emergency room for a bad allergic reaction to some baklava (sidenote: now I have to have an epi-pen!) Had a calm few months after that until I broke my foot in August just days before I was to go on a motorcycle camping holiday. Hobbled around for a month and then retried my trip, only to re-break my foot on my way out of town.

So yeah…. Looking forward to 2008.

Well, I wasn't a complete sloth this holiday season. In my 2.7 weeks off I spent exactly 1 week with a nasty cold, and managed to design and markup 2 websites (this one included). Not too crazy of an overhaul, but the way I've built the back end makes posting much easier for me, and I've added a lot to the landing page so that you don't have to dig so deep to get where you want to be. 

Since I'll often post 2 or 3 quickies in one day, it makes more sense to show the last 10 quickies rather than just the last one on the home page. There's also much more navigation in the sidebar now. I've taken portfolio posts out of the main blog and added a "recent work" and "recent play" section to the sidebar, as well as categories and external links. So that's that. Please let me know if you find something that's not quite right, or broken.

Heh, I love the new animated “Get a Mac” holiday ad… The irony of this campaign is that John Hodgman’s character (PC guy) is the most endearing aspect of the whole thing.

I’ve realized lately that part of the reason that I don’t post very often is that I’ve actually made posting a bit of a hassle with the way I’ve structured the site. In my pursuit to have an ultra-clean homepage I think I sacrificed some things that make the site more usable, and make posting easier for me. So I’ve begun a rethink of the structure of the site, and invariably probably some design changes as well to facilitate this rethink. I’ve had a few good suggestions from people on new sections to implement and I’m taking all of these things into account as I determine the best way to stay motivated to continue updating & posting.
