EA Games is one of the worst game developers out there when it comes to DRM (and treating their employees well too, from what I hear). Their new much talked about game Spore is the latest victim in their DRM rampage—if you install the game more than 3 times it renders the install CDs useless. Think that deterred the pirates? Think again.
“There are two types of gamers - paying customers, and pirates. No matter what kind of security measures a company puts on softwares, the pirates will pirate, and the paying customers will pay. There really is very little swing to this. There may be a few iffy people who go, “Meh, it’s unhackable and I really want to play. I’ll buy it. ” But very, very, rarely. And, it doesn’t even matter now because Spore is cracked anyway. Pirates win.”

So yeah, turns out that size does actually matter. What you see pictured is my new 24" iMac sitting next to my old 17" iMac, making it look small and silly. If you look very closely you may see a bit of drool on the keyboard. It's a friggin' huge monstrosity and I love it! I don't even need two monitors anymore, and I'm back to using Spaces again. Also, this thing is so bright it's like sitting in front of a car with its high beams on. I have to keep the brightness set to 1 notch out of 16 to preserve my eyesight.
It's like surfin' the interweb in an IMAX theatre. Without all the screaming kids.
