As a young designer in a fast-moving field, I’m looking to gain experience in every area that I can, and further build my skillset to prepare me for any environment. I'm passionate about art and design, eager to adopt new ideas, and excited to evolve my career in conjunction with the continuously changing world of design.
I'm particularly interested in web design and usability, and one of my strengths as a web designer is that I have also managed to build a solid knowledge of programming as my interest in this area has grown. I believe that having at least some sort of skillset in programming leads to a better web designer, allowing one to consider all angles of the project as they design. That being said, I am also very interested in branding and print work, and my skillset rests comfortably between these two areas of design.

I was hired on at IBC as a junior designer but quickly gained the responsibilities of an intermediate level designer, and grappled head-on many tasks which were outside my skillset and comfort zone.

My position at Karo was a monthly contract to provide services as demand required.
It's difficult to get a sense of someone's personality in a resume, and I certainly can't be summed up in two paragraphs, but I'll try. One thing that has started to shape and define me in the past 5 years is a love of motorcycles. I've been riding since I moved to Vancouver in 2004, and have already embarked on a couple of long journeys; from Vancouver to the Yukon in 2006, and from Vancouver to the Grand Canyon this past summer in 2008. Eventually I'd like to take part in an Enduro ride across the Himalayas or Africa.
My other love is illustration and painting, which I have been working at since I was a child. I haven't been able to do as much of it in the past couple of years but I'm now pushing hard to immerse myself back into it during my evenings and weekends. I've also been collaborating on a game called Ivory Mahjongg, creating the graphics and the website.
